The staff are very friendly and helpful, the atmospher was great and the food was amazing. We ordered the battered hake and the chicken wellington and all thoroughly enjoyed it. I would definately recommend and if we're ever passing through Downton again I would visit again.

We often stop here on a Sunday lunchtime for a drink after walking in the New Forest. It is lovely and cosy in the winter, with towels and water bowls ready for the doggies. We had the Sunday roast the other weekend because they have always looked fantastic, and it really was. Plenty of great quality fresh food and friendly, attentive service. Definitely a go to place for a weekend. There is plenty of outside rustic seating for the summer too

Lovely place, at least 2 good sized bar areas which are dog friendly. Staff were very nice. Good selection of food choices and as vegetarians there were at least 4/5 choices for main which was great. Had a mixture of small bites for starter (cauliflower pop corn went down well! Halloumi fries and garlic bread) and for main we had feta pizza and cauliflower steak with a super salad and the portion was huge! Would like to go back and try the others too.

Went on a Saturday 6:30pm booking. Was a great atmosphere I don't like it when it's too crowded. It wasn't that at all. It was quiet the staff was attentive. If you don't like that then might be off putting but I like the attention to detail and a clear standard. The food was incredible too I would definitely go back again and have recommended this place to a few people already.

We've only been twice (so far), but the food on both occasions has been superb. The decor is cosy and rustic. We'll keep looking for opportunities to return and try more of their delicious dishes.

Fantastic pub for a family meal on a Sunday! The roast was lovely, there was a great atmosphere (with live music from 4pm) and it was the most family friendly and dog friendly pub we’ve been to in a long time. As soon as we came in they made sure our dogo had water, some treats and even a little blanket to snooze on! The staff and service were great - would highly recommend!
